    Abstract:
'I review progress in ultrahigh-energy cosmic ray physics focusing on rnmodels developed for the interpretation of recent experimental results.rnEmphasis is put on models aiming to explain the transition from rnGalactic to extragalactic cosmic rays together with composition and rnanisotropy data. I discuss the additional constraints arising, if these rnsources contribute to the observed neutrino flux and, if time permits, rncomment on the effect of extragalactic magnetic fields.'
